Google Glasses: Would You Wear Them?

Google Glasses: Would You Wear Them? [POLL]
by Chris Taylor on Mashable

Buddy Holly, John Lennon, Woody Allen, Bono, Tina Fey: the list of celebrities who made a specific style of glasses famous is surprisingly small.
And now Google dares to go where other tech companies fear to tread — into the eyewear market. But can its design become that iconic? Can it succeed in redefining what it means to wear glasses?
Google’s Project Glass, the augmented reality glasses project launched on Google+ Wednesday, is in its very early stages. According to the minimal information on its Google+ page, the images above are “design photos” rather than working prototypes. We don’t know exactly how that tiny heads-up display would function in real life.
The accompanying video seems to suggest you’d be able to click on an icon simply by looking at it, but it’s far more likely that early versions of the glasses would be controlled by your Android smartphone.
So for now, let’s just concentrate on how the design looks, which seems to be Google’s intention. (“We’re sharing this information now because we want to start a conversation and learn from your valuable input,” read the blog post.)
Sure, the mostly glassless frames and tiny screen look utterly bizarre now. But are they fundamentally any more bizarre than a Bluetooth earpiece? What if a whole commuter train of folks was wearing them?
