Top 10 Wonders of The World

There is the list of top ten wonders of the world which are the masterpiece of the skill and handwork of the people of that era. Today we become astonished to see these wonders that in so remote ages without any modern technology and machine how so great construction were made. 1. The Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China was constructed 7th century BC. It is a series of fortification built to protect the empire of China.

2. Petra

It is an archeological city of Jorden that is famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system.

3. Cristo Rendetor Statue

It is largest Art Deco statue in the world and the 5th largest statue of Jesus in the world.

4. Taj Mehal of Agra

It was constructed by famous Mughal rular Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal.

5. Hagia Sophia

A famous mosque in Turky and masterpiece of construction was a cathedral and converted into a mosque by Mehmat II. It is now a museum in Turky

6. The Hanging Garden of Babylon

The Hanging Gardens of Babylon was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only one of the Wonders that may have been purely legendary

7. Lighthouse of Alexandria

It was a tower built between 280 and 247 BC on the island of Pharos at Alexandria, Egypt. Its purpose was to guide sailors into the port of Alexandria. With a height variously estimated at somewhere between 393 and 450 ft .

8. Temple of Artemis

It is situated near the present Turkey, also known less precisely as the Temple of Diana. It was completely rebuilt three times before its eventual destruction in 401.

9. Victoria Falls

It is a waterfall located in southern Africa on the Zambezi River between the countries of Zambia and Zimbabwe.

10. Lost Wonders of the World

Chinese netizens inundate Obama on Google+

Chinese 'netizens' inundate Obama's Google+ page

President Obama's page on Google's social network site has been inundated with messages in Chinese after restrictions in China were removed.

Every current topic on Mr Obama's Google+ page attracted hundreds of Chinese comments.
Some contributors made jokes; others said they were occupying the site in the style of western Occupy campaigns.
Google+ is normally blocked in China along with other social media that the authorities deem unacceptable.
Since Google+ was launched in 2011, software known informally as the Great Firewall had appeared to block it within China.
But on 20 February 2012 internet-users in many parts of China found they could gain access to the site - prompting some to suggest occupying it, in a tongue-in-cheek reference to the Occupy Wall Street campaign.
On 24 and 25 February, to the consternation of American readers, every current topic on President Obama's 2012 election campaign page attracted hundreds of comments, apparently from China.
Their exact provenance cannot be verified, but the expressions contributors used were in the style of mainland China and in simplified Chinese.
A few appealed for the liberty of the civil rights activist Chen Guangcheng, who is under house arrest.

Others asked about a recent political intrigue in south-west China, in which one of the country's top policemen, Wang Lijun, spent a day in the US consulate in Chengdu for undisclosed reasons.

But many simply voiced delight at their freedom to speak: they talked about occupying the furniture and bringing snacks and soft drinks.

The White House in Washington has not commented on the upsurge of Chinese interest in President Obama's campaign site.

But it has prompted one poster to suggest that if China ever abandoned its internet restrictions, the United States would have to protect its social media with a Great Firewall of its own.

China's inflation rate rises to 4.5%

China's inflation rate rises to 4.5%

China's rate of inflation unexpectedly accelerated in January for the first time since it peaked in July, as consumers raised spending around Chinese New Year.

Consumer prices rose 4.5% from a year earlier, the National Bureau of Statistics said. That compares with 4.1% in December.

Analysts were expecting prices to rise by 4.0%.

High consumer prices have threatened to derail growth in China.

Policy decision
Inflation had been easing steadily since hitting a three-year high of 6.5% in July.

Analysts said not too much should be read into the New-Year-distorted January figures.

"January numbers are distorted by the Lunar New Year holiday and we need to wait until February numbers come out to make our conclusions," said Shen Jianguang from Mizuho Securities Asia in Hong Kong.

"I think the policymakers will wait as well."

Chinese authorities, who were once implementing measures to control high inflation, had recently begun easing monetary policy to spur growth as inflation eased and weak demand from Europe affected exports.

"The January inflation number will of course make policymakers wary of the risk and be more cautious in further relaxation of monetary policy," said Mr Jianguang.

Income gap
The New Year holiday, which fell between 22 January and 28 January this year, may have boosted prices and retail sales.

It also acted to dampen trade and industrial production as factories closed down for the celebration.

The biggest contributor to the rise was pork prices, which gained 25% compared with 21.3% in December. That drove overall food inflation to rise 10.5%.

Last year's spike in living costs spurred frustration among the public over the income gap.

Chinese leaders have been under pressure to distribute the country's economic prosperity better to the poor.

On Wednesday, in an attempt to alleviate some of those concerns, the Cabinet said it would increase the minimum wage by at least 13% each year until 2015.

According to the company, a total of 20 women, mostly college graduates, participated in the training session on Sunday, which was the first open group training for female bodyguards in China. 

All trainees will have to undergo 8-10 months of training to develop sufficient skills to serve their clients. The company will offer the best trainee a chance to attend further study at the International Security Academy in Israel. Women are especially in demand because they are less visible than men and can take on other positions like a secretary or nanny. Female bodyguards are also paid better, up to about $130 a day. The average annual wage in China is just $308.
