Krrish 3 is an upcoming Bollywood superhero science fiction film. The film will be produced and directed by Rakesh Roshan.[1] The film will continue the story of Rohit Mehra and his superhero son Krrish, after Koi... Mil Gaya and Krrish,[2] this being the third film of the Krrish film series. Both the earlier films have received blockbuster status at the box office.[3] The film will be released during Diwali 2013 along with its 3D format on November 4, 2013.

Production
Filming commenced on 1 December 2011 with Oberoi, Ranaut and Chopra. However, Hrithik Roshan did not participate in the first schedule due to a back injury.[9] Actress Shaurya Chauhan met with a freak accident while shooting for the film in Hyderabad, due to which the film has faced some delays.[10] The film was previously expected to release on November 1, 2013[11] but has now been postponed to a post-Diwali November 4 release.[12]
Casting
Following the success of the previous installments, director Rakesh Roshan planned to develop a second sequel to the franchise, with Hrithik Roshan playing the protagonist again. He had penned the script, but had to re-work it as the storyline was too similar to the Hollywood blockbuster Spider-Man 3.[13] Priyanka Chopra was later confirmed to reprise the role of Priya. In this film, she will be seen married to Krishna Mehra.
Next, Chitrangada Singh announced her inclusion in the project as a mutant.[15] Singh was later replaced by Jacqueline Fernandez, however she later on also backed out of the film due to a lack of dates.[16][17][18] It was reported that actresses Nargis Fakhri, Esha Gupta and Bipasha Basu were to replace Fernandez.[19][20] Kangna Ranaut has finally been confirmed to play the role, who coincidentally was originally offered the role.[19] Rakesh Roshan had earlier revealed to media that the main antagonist of film would be as powerful as the hero.[21] After talks with Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan fell through, Vivek Oberoi was eventually cast for the coveted role.[6][22]
In January 2011, Lakshmi Manchu claimed to have been offered a role in the film as the antagonist's girlfriend.[23] The film has already started making profits. Its overseas distribution rights were sold to Eros International while Rakesh Roshan retained rights in Mumbai.[24] There was also initial speculation that Rekha would play a major role in the film, which was later denied as a rumour.[22]
Music
The songs of the film are being composed by Rajesh Roshan at Krishna Audio; whilst the background score will being composed by Salim-Sulaiman. The music rights of the film was acquired by T-Series for INR60 million (US$1.0 million).[25]
Marketing
Promotions for the movie started post July 2013 and the first look of Krrish 3 was unveiled online.[26] Response for the poster was quite enthusiastic from the audience. The first trailer video was published by film makers on their official YouTube channel on 5th August, 2013.[27] It received more than 2.3 million views at Youtube within its first day of release and thereby surpassing the record held by Jab Tak Hai Jaan of 1 million views in one day.[28] Press reaction has been positive to the teaser trailor with many stating it echoes the look of recent superhero movies from Hollywood such as Iron Man 3, the Amazing Spider-Man and Man of Steel. Writer and author of Bollywood An Insider's Guide, Fuad Omar wrote on his blog that such comparisons were unfair given they were based on comic books and intellectual properties that had been developed over decades[29]. He commented that Krrish was very much an original character created by Rakesh Roshan and developed by Filmkraft and so the film and character deserved credit for setting a new standard for an original superhero which has not been seen elsewhere in the world. He also stated that no other filmmaker in India or elsewhere has managed to achieve what Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan have in completely creating a new character that competes at the box office with superhero films across the world and comes out with a hugely successful franchise that is original and has fuelled a fandom similar to those of comic book heroes yet with Krrish's story still being written with each film.

Council Created to Regulate Aggregation, Bloggers

Council Created to Regulate Aggregation, Bloggers
By Alissa Skelton For Mashable

Information hits the Web and just like that the news spreads like fire. Stories are frantically re-reported and some are missing an important detail — attribution.

David Carr, media reporter for The New York Times, wrote an article on Monday about a group of editors who plan to establish guidelines for ethical aggregation and blogging and another journalism duo who have created symbols they call the Curator’s Code.

Simon Dumenco, Ad Age’s editor at large, Bill Falk, editor-in-chief of The Week, Julia Turner deputy editor of Slate will be on the “Is Aggregation Theft?” panel on Tuesday during the South by Southwest conference in Austin, TX., to discuss the promotion of a news organization’s work versus stealing reporting.

Over the weekend on another panel, Dumenco introduced The Council on Ethical Blogging and Aggregation as a way to set standards for aggregators, Carr reported. Editors from The New York Observer, The Atlantic, Esquire, Longreads.com and New York Magazine have joined the committee.

Demenco told Carr the council would be set up similar to the American Society of Magazine Editors, which has created editorial standards for the magazine industry. One key issue Dumenco told Carr he wants to address is the fact site traffic isn’t also routed back to the original source of news.

Demenco didn’t tell Carr many details about what sort of guidelines for aggregation will be set in place or how will they be enforced. His basic message is aggregation isn’t bad if done properly. It’s a simple idea really. Give credit where it’s due.

Carr quoted Demenco saying: “This is not an anti-aggregation group, we are pro-aggregation. We want some simple, common-sense rules. There should be some kind of variation of the Golden Rule here, which is that you should aggregate others as you would wish to be aggregated yourself.”

The committee has support from big name editors, but how will the Council on Ethical Blogging and Aggregation reel-in the blogosphere?

A Gawker reporter responded to Carr’s piece by saying the committee is unneeded. The rebuttal blog post was slapped with this headline, “We Don’t Need No Stinking Seal of Approval from the Blog Police.”

“This sort of top-down, expert-heavy, credential-credulous media structure is exactly what blogging has so brilliantly been destroying for more than a decade,” Hamilton Nolan, a senior writer wrote. “The internet is where the upstarts are on equal footing with the experts.”

Others in the industry have picked out the Council’s missing links, too. Mediabistro, a well-known news aggregator, thinks the Council is a good idea, but noted the problems the committee is facing.

“Maybe the most troubling thing is that for a group developing rules for bloggers, there aren’t many bloggers taking part,” Chris O’Shea wrote in his Mediabistro article.

The other big idea that has emerged during South by Southwest is the Curator’s Code, which is Reporter Maria Popova’s idea that writers could stamp their articles with a symbol to note whether the the original news was reported by another news organization or was inspired by another article, Carr reported. Kelli Anderson designed two symbols that would offer a crutch for reporters to clearly state whether the story was “via” another source or a “hat tip.” (Check out the symbols in the New York Times column.)

“Discovery of information is a form of intellectual labor,” Popova told the Carr. “When we don’t honor discovery, we are robbing somebody’s time and labor. The Curator’s Code is an attempt to solve some of that.”

So what do you think? Does the news and blogging industry need aggregation guidelines? Sound off in the comments.

Sir Richard Branson wins rights to richardbranson.xxx

Sir Richard Branson wins rights to richardbranson.xxx

Sir Richard Branson has won control of the domain name richardbranson.xxx.

The tycoon had been in dispute with Australian Sean Truman, who registered the domain name last year.

The National Arbitration Forum (NAF), a US-based adjudication body, ruled that Mr Truman had registered and used richardbranson.xxx "in bad faith".

The .xxx domain was introduced as a home for pornography and other adult-orientated web sites in 2011.

"We worry about the misuse of Sir Richard's name and he is pleased that we now have it under our ownership," said Nick Fox, a spokesman for the founder of the Virgin business empire.

Icann, the body which has overall responsibility for domain names, had ordered the transfer of the richardbranson.xxx domain name to Virgin, Mr Fox added.

Trademark owners were given the opportunity to block the registration of .xxx domain names last year before they were made available for general public registration.

Mr Fox said that Virgin was in the process of doing this when Mr Truman registered it, four days after general availability.

'Sex sells'
In Mr Truman's argument to the NAF, he contended that he had registered the domain name as a "souvenir" because of his admiration of Sir Richard.

He argued that Sir Richard has a history of using the "sex sells" principle in his business activities, using "Virgin" as a generic brand name.

The NAF ruled that Mr Truman should have recognized that his registration and control of richardbranson.xxx "would serve to vex or embarrass" Sir Richard.

Thomas Frederiksen, chief operating officer at UK web hosting company One.com, warned that the .xxx domain could cause serious problems for businesses.

"If someone has registered your company's name, or in this case the name of your CEO, it can permanently damage your brand," he said.

"This is a unique case as not all company CEOs will be able to argue that their name is protected under intellectual property law."
