It can perhaps be attributed to the male-dominated industry, but heroines can't be shown taller than the heroes. No surprise then that Sonam Kapoor had to discard her heels during her shoot with Neil Nitin Mukesh for Abbas Mustan's Players.

An insider in the unit reveals that the director-duo became aware of the difference in height between the two stars when they started the film's shoot in Goa.

"Sonam is a couple of inches taller than Neil. Considering the kind of scenes the two stars had in the movie, Abbas and Mustan felt that Neil couldn't look shorter. So to minimise the height difference, they suggested that Sonam shoot her scenes without wearing heels," recalls our source.

However, when it came to shooting her scenes with Abhishek Bachchan, she would get back into her heels. "Because if Sonam wore flat shoes in her scenes with Abhi, she would look a lot more shorter than him than she actually is," reveals our source.

The shoe issue, however, did not lead to any ego hassle. As our source says, "In fact, Abhi, Neil and Sonam got along like a house on fire. More so, since they've known each other since their childhood. The difference in height is a very insignificant issue."

December 05, 2011, (GETbyU) - Rubbing shoulders with Hollywood star Tom Cruise, Sonam Kapoor smoldered in a feathered one shoulder Alpana and Neeraj draped dress at Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol premiere.

The 26-year-old was at the event at IMAX BIG Cinemas in Mumbai on Sunday, December 4 to support her dad Anil Kapoor, who co-stars in the film with Tom Cruise and Paula Patton.

She was also there to plug her own upcoming thriller, Players.

And we will let you take a call on whether she was there, above all, to get up and close with Tom Cruise.

Styled by sister Rhea Kapoor, Sonam rocked Alpananeeraj label's AW10 number presented by the designer duo during the Delhi Fashion Week AW09.

The dark chocolate dress with a sweetheart neckline ended just above the knees and featured a trendy faux-feather accent on the shoulder, bringing focus to her chiseled collar bone and slim arms.

Unlike the runway model strutting the dress at the fashion week, Sonam omitted the belt, which accentuated the beautiful draping of the soft suede material.

Sonam accessorized with tan and black snake-effect Jimmy Choo sandals, python print clutch, and statement Emerald and Ruby earrings by mom Sunita Kapoor.

Her makeup and hairstyling, by celebrity makeup artist Venus Pereira, augmented the drama of her dress. Her hair was styled in an immaculately swept back sleek ponytail. Her scarlet pout, bold red blush and liner free dreamy eyes arguably stole some of Tom Cruise's red carpet thunder.

Sonam was joined on the red carpet by her Players co-stars Abhishek Bachchan and Neil Nitin Mukesh, and director duo Abbas Mustan. They posed together for photogs and were introduced to Tom Cruise as a group.
