Could THQ be on the edge of ruin? Rumours say 'yes'

An industry insider is suggesting that it's literally game over for THQ, as it looks to be bought out and cancels its 2014 titles, and Dark Millennium Online... really?
Welll, this is a doozey. According to industry analyst Kevin Dent'sTwitter feed, THQ is pretty much circling the drain. It's cancelled the 40K MMO Dark Millennium, shut down all plans for 2014, and is looking for someone to buy the company out.
The NeoGAF forums broke the news, and sure enough it's still all through Dent's feed, along with a lot of tweets obviously backing his claims.
It's hard to take this seriously for now. There's certainly no official news, and all that can be gotten out of THQ locally is a firm 'no comment' - which, if you're that way inclined, could be taken kinda ominously.
That said, Vigil Games' (the company working on Dark Millennium)website still boasts the game as upcoming, though the commentary on the company's Facebook page is rather slow. On the other hand, Vigil's still advertising for jobs on the DMO team.
At least for now.
I know THQ's share price has taken a hammering over the last 12 months (thank in part to poor critical reception of Homefront), and the amount of licensed games it's pulbishing - from UFC to Games Workshop - can't be cheap. And then there's the brutal round of studio closures from last year to consider. So maybe this is more than speculation after all.
