The T-Mobile HTC One S that was announced back at the MWC in February, is all set to be made available in the US on April 25. This device offers a generous scoop of Ice Cream Sandwich and takes advantage of HTC Sense 4 that brings features like ImageSense, enhanced audio and more.
The smartphone runs the 4G network speed and is currently available only through T-Mobile in the US. It gets steam from the dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 CPU that processes at a speed of about 1.5GHz. Like most other recent HTC devices, it also boasts of the Dr. Dre certification that is responsible for improved audio reproduction through this phone. Additionally, the company now offers 25GB free cloud storage for constant access to digital content at all times.
“The HTC One series is a revolutionary device portfolio and we’re proud to be the first carrier to introduce the HTC One S to the U.S. market. With a stunningly thin design that doesn’t compromise performance, the HTC One S is a sleek 4G smartphone with beauty and brains that our customers will be proud to show off,” quoted Andrew Sherrard, senior vice president of marketing, T-Mobile USA.
And what’s more, the front panel of the HTC One S is dominated by a qHD Super AMOLED screen that provides a multi-touch real estate spanning 4.3 inches. The sleek device with thickness of about 7.95mm employs a 1650mAh battery for a long-lasting performance. The 8MP camera works in tandem with the ImageSense technology to allow recording 1080p videos and also clicking images while shooting. Its communication options are inclusive of Bluetooth as well as Wi-Fi and the embedded HDMI connector lets users view its content on a big screen HDTV.
The T-Mobile HTC One S release date and price details stand at April 25 and $199.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a two-year agreement.

Following the launch of its new Alter Ego ad campaign yesterday, T-Mobile just made its new “Test Drive” tool available for comparing the speed of “American’s Largest 4G Network” to other guys— Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon. Unfortunately, as pointed out by TMONews, the carrier is comparing 4G LTE Android handsets, such as the Galaxy S II, to the 3G speeds of the iPhone 4S. This is obviously not a fair comparison of LTE network speeds…
T-Mobile’s TestDrive website is now live and I will say at first glance, I’m disappointed. I’ll just get right to it — T-Mobile, I’m really puzzled by this. The idea that you claim “America’s largest 4G network” and design a new commercial campaign around speed and then compare your “4G” network against “3G” smartphones is a questionable act. Speed should no longer be the focus of T-Mobile’s marketing campaign, Value and Technology should. Speed should be a secondary thought. If you can’t win on speed, highlight where you can, Value, Value, Value.
